Participants in the NYU SPS Management and Technology Thinkathon acted as consultants for leaders overseeing cultural heritage and legacy in New York City. They examined how institutions dedicated to arts, history, and public engagement leverage data and technology for audience analysis. They assessed the institution's current systems and data sets and proposed innovative strategies to enhance internal and external communication. They presented these strategies to institutional leaders, recommending how they could sustain and expand its programming while strengthening its connections with local and global communities.
Leadership presented two real-life challenges to participants.
Engage New Youth Audiences

Capture and Utilize Data to Boost Experience and Sustain Engagement
We currently employ various evaluative tools from surveys and in-person feedback sessions. However, these systems are not seamlessly integrated, resulting in inefficiencies. Participants recommended ways to integrate and streamline the evaluation process and improve the integration of data collection methods to enhance outreach and sustain participation.
