In this course, students gain the skills and strategies needed to enhance their communication in English in professional settings. Students learn techniques for writing clear, concise and effective professional emails, memos, letters, proposals, and employment documents. In addition, students will build their oral communication skills for job interviews, leading effective meetings and conference calls, negotiating with colleagues and clients, and giving successful presentations. The course is structured around interactive tasks, group activities, and hands-on assignments and will result in students’ improved accuracy, fluency, and confidence in professional interactions in English. Students will gain additional insights into best communication practices from visiting speakers coming from a range of professional fields.
