You will learn how to foster healthy family dynamics, understand child behavior, and apply evidence-based practices to support both parental and child well-being. The course will also introduce you to the roles of various professionals involved in family support and how to integrate these practices into diverse settings such as community centers, non-profits, and healthcare environments. This course meets the educational requirements for certification as a New York State Parent Educator through the New York State Parenting Education Partnership (NYSPEP). The instructor will help participants connect with a NYSPEP mentor to assist in submitting a portfolio that demonstrates skills and experience in supporting parents, in order to apply for the Parenting Educator Credential.
